Aishwaryan K
Aishwaryan K (b. 1986, Palakkad, Kerala) is a Bengaluru-based artist working primarily in painting and printmaking. He received his Diploma in Painting from the KEN School of Art, Bengaluru (2008), and a Post Diploma in Printmaking from Bangalore University (2010). He is the recipient of several awards and scholarships, including the 44th Karnataka Lalit Kala Akademi State Award (2016), Graphic Fellowship from Karnataka Lalit Kala Akademi (2018), Kala Sanchara Travel Grant (2017), Shenoy Art Foundation Emerging Artist Award (2016), Inlaks Shivdasani Foundation Grant (2015), Jury Award from Chandra Ilango Visual Art Foundation (2015), K. K. Hebbar Art Foundation Award (2015), Arnawaz Vasudev Charities Scholarship (2008–09), Anantica Jija Singh Foundation Scholarship (2008), and Nadoja Shri R. M. Hadapad Student Scholarship (2006). His solo project The Artist’s World, curated by Vaishnavi Ramanathan, was presented at Mumbai Art Room, Mumbai (2015). Aishwaryan has participated in several residencies including Paradise AIR, Matsudo, Japan (2020); SARA Art Centre, Dombekoppa (2019); Piramal Art Foundation, Thane (2016); Cholamandal Artists’ Village, Chennai (2015); and international camps in Bangladesh, Odisha, and Sri Lanka. His works have been exhibited widely in India and internationally at institutions and galleries such as Gallery Sumukha, Anant Art, InKo Centre, Goethe-Institut Bengaluru, Kerala History Museum, and Rochester Contemporary Art Center, New York. Aishwaryan lives and works in Bengaluru, Karnataka.
