G Ravinder Reddy, born in 1956, Andhra Pradesh. He completed his post-graduation in Sculpture from M.S.University of Baroda in 1982. He went to complete his Diploma in Art and Design at Goldsmith College of Arts in 1983 and short certificate course in Ceramics at Royal College of Art, London in 1984.
His sculptural forms are iconic which mostly represent Indian women with strikingly bold features with wide eyes and bodily forms. The “head” series usually are monumental and colourful which captivate the feminine beauty that has both traditional and contemporary Indian cultural appeal.
He has done several solo exhibitions with works shown at Grosvenor Vadehra, London; Bose Pacia Gallery, New York; Le Jardin d'Acclimatation, Paris; Andy Warhol Museum, Pittsburg: Arthur M. Sackler Gallery, Washington DC; Walsh Gallery, Chicago; Sakshi Gallery, Mumbai; Appejay Media, New Delhi; Art Heritage, New Delhi and many more places. He has been part of several curated exhibitions and significant group shows in India and abroad. His sculptures are in the collections of many important museums such as Victoria & Albert Museum, Peabody Essex Museum, Fukuoka Asian Art Museum: Virginia Museum of fine arts; Queensland Art Gallery and many prestigious institutions and private collections in India and abroad.
He has been part of various sculpture symposiums, Artist residencies, art camps and workshop throughout the country and abroad. He taught Sculpture for three decades at the Department of Fine Arts, Andhra University, Vishakapatnam.
He lives and works in Vishakapatnam.
