Nankusia Shyam

Nankusia Shyam learnt her art from her husband, Jangarh Singh Shyam. With his initial encouragement, she has continued to carry the legacy of Gond Art in her own expression. Her Gond art is portrayal of flora and fauna drawn from her childhood memories of her birthplace Sonpuri. She also draws her impressions of the urban life and aspects of surrounding nature in her works. She has also illustrated few children’s books. She has travelled extensively in India and abroad and exhibited her works in several cultural and art forums. Her art has been exhibited in Dubai, Japan, Sri Lanka and other countries. She works as an artist at Bharat Bhavan, Bhopal.
