BIOGRAPHY

Tanya Mehta is an artist who has exhibited her work both nationally and internationally. She recently completed her 1st solo show exploring Platos Allergory of the Cave. Her works were recently included in an exhibition at Palatte Art Gallery (Delhi) during the India Art Fair. She has also exhibited at Target Art Gallery (Alexandria, Washington DC), Shoreditch Town Hall (London) and The Goldsmiths NAB Space (London). Her work and ideology have also been published twice in the art journal ‘The Fuchsia Tree’. She is also part of the Artist Pension Trust and The Art Place collections. As a Masters student of Image and Communication (MA in Photography:The Image and Electronic Arts) from Goldsmiths University, Tanya works with New Mixed Media, photographing everyday objects and turning them into alternate realities through the techniques of collage and digital painting. “My work explores leaving everyday reality to create a world of my own which in turn explores personal and universal truths. I contemplate contemporary issues faced by modern society and reinterpret these through history, myth, literature and music." Tanya lives and works in Bangalore, India.
