Ravinder Reddy

Born in 1956 in Andhra Pradesh, India, he obtained his B.F.A.(Sculpture) from M.S.University. Vadodara, 1980 and M.F.A.(Creative Sculpture in 1982. He obtained a Diploma (Art and Design), Goldsmith College of Arts, University of London, 1983 and a Short Course Certificate (Ceramics), Royal College of Art, London, 1984. He has been teaching at the Department of Fine Arts, Andhra University, Visakhapatnam since 1990. Ravinder Reddy has shown widely throughout India since 1981 and is well known abroad for his striking colourful heads and figurative sculptures of Indian female forms.Devi, at Sackler Gallery, Washington Dc. USA 2003 and Sculptures at Walsh Gallery, Chicago, USA, 2003. He has participated widely in group exhibitions, some of the more recent being Human Park -An exhibition of Global Creatures, La Virreinna Exposicions Institute de Cultura, Barcelona, 2002, India: Contemporary Art from North Eastern Private Collections at JaneVoorhees, Zimmerli Art Museum, USA,2002; . He has been invited to participate in various sculptor’s camps and workshops throughout the country and abroad, the most recent being "Kalam to Computer" at the Crafts Museum, New Delhi, 2001 and "SideWinder" workshop at CIMA, Kolkata in association with British Council, Kolkata, 2000. His works are in prestigious private and public collections in India and abroad. Ravinder Reddy lives with his family in Visakpatnam, India.
