Pavan K J

Born in 1980, is based in Mysore and Bengaluru. He has a BFA, majoring in Photography & Photojournalism, from the Chamarajendra Academy of Visual Arts (CAVA) Mysore (2000-2005). He also holds an Advanced Diploma in Multimedia from Arena Multimedia (1999-2000), having done his Pre-University at St. Philomena’s College, Mysore (1996–1998). He has pursued art photography and commercial photography as a freelancer, and worked as assistant photographer at Ideogram. Pavan has shown his photography in various group exhibitions. His solo show Junkyard was shown at Gallery Sumukha in September 2009. Pavan has been involved with various symposia between 2004 and 2005, is the recipient of the Mysore Dasara Award for Fine Art Photography, 2002; and more recently in 2007, he received the Runner Up award for Best Still Life, from Better Photography. Pavan is also Percussionist and Backing vocalist for the Indian fusion band Swarathma.
