Lalitha Shankar

Lalitha Shankar obtained her Master’s Degree in Sculpture, from Maryland, USA. Her work experience includes working at the Johnson Atelier Fine Arts Foundry in Trenton, New Jersey, USA. She has participated in many exhibitions in India and abroad. Some of which are Stratamon Group Brugge, Belgium, 1999; International Artists Camp organized at Lalit Kala Artists Studio in Garhi, New Delhi,1997; Karnataka State Sculptors’ Camp, Karnataka Sculptors’ Academy, 1997; Rinehart Hundred: The Contemporary Years, Baltimore, USA, 1996; The South of the World – The Other Contemporary Art, Marsala, Italy, organized by Ente Mostra Nazionale di Pittura 1991; Asian American Art Center Annual Exhibition, New York, USA, 1990. She juried the All India Sculpture Exhibition , New Delhi, 1987 and participated in the exhibition of Indian Women Sculptors, organized by NGMA, New Delhi , in 1987 Lalitha showed her bronze and terracotta sculptures at Sakshi Gallery, Chennai, in 1986 and was in the Contemporary Printmaking in India, juried exhibition held in San Diego, USA, 1984. She juried the National Exhibition of Art, Cenral Lalit Kala Academy, New Delhi from 1983-1986. Lalitha has received the Rinehart award, Maryland Institute, College of Art, Baltimore, 1990; Tamil Nadu State. Lalitha Shankar work and lives in Bangalore.
