B.O. Sailesh, born 1970 in Karnataka, India, has a BFA in Painting from Karnataka Universtiy (1994) and has since shown in many solo shows in India and in group shows in India and abroad, some of which are 2008 Residential Exhibition,Berlin, Germany;2007 Colours of Independence, Nehru Centre, London; 2006 National Gallery, Maldives; 2006 Collective Spaces, India Habitat Centre; 2005, 2003 Mueller and Plate Gallery, Germany; 2003 Reclaimed,British Council,Chennai; 2002 Process and Paradigm, Art Consult, New Delhi;2002 Modern Art Gallery, Korea and 2000 Art Today, New Delhi. Awards include 2008 S.L.B.A. Award, Lyons, France; 2004 Global Adjustment Award, Chennai; HK Kejriwal Young Artist Award 2000, Bangalore, among others. He is the recipient of the 1996 Research Grant, Chennai; 1994 Kala Kuncha Association, Karnataka and 1988-1991 Best Student of the Year, among others. He lives and works in Chennai, India.
