Amal Ghosh

Born in Kolkata in 1933, Amal Ghosh obtained his degree in Painting from the Govt. College of Art & Craft, Kolkata; Post Graduation at School of Art & Design, London, and Hertfordshire College of Art, St. Alban’s, England. He has shown in solo shows in Norway, Sweden, London, Denmanrk and Kolkata in the years 1980 – 1999. His works are in the public collections of Victoria and Albert Museum, London; Leicester University, England; Musee Muncipal, France; Ely Cathedral, England; British Council, Kolkata and Bengal Foundation Dhaka, Bangladesh, among many others. Ghosh has been commissioned for a number of murals such as a Mosaic for the Commercial Bank of India, Kolkata; a tile mural for the Great Ormond St. Hospital, London; stained glass shields for House of Lords, Palace of Westminister, London; mural in enamel, copper and gold for Manchester Cathedral, to name a few. Amal Ghosh also writes and has published numerous books on art between the years 1992 and 1997.
