Alexander Devasia

Alexander Devasia was born in Kerala He obtained his B.F.A.Painting, from the College of Fine Arts, Trivandrum, Kerala in 1979-1985, and his Post Graduation from Faculty of Fine Arts, M.S.University, Baroda, 1986-1988.. A selection of his one man shows include 1991: Jehangir Art Gallery, Bombay; 1994: Gallery 7, Bombay; 1995: United Arab Emirates & Pundole Art Gallery, Mumbai; 1998: ‘Ten Suspended Images‘ in Pundole Art Gallery, Bombay; 2003+2004: Hotel Apollo, Regensburg, Germany;2004: Jazz-Club-Galerie in City Museum, Regensburg,Germany;2005 SINGING IN THE RAIN, Galerie Mueller&Plate, Munich, Germany; SINGING IN THE RAIN, Pundole Art Gallery, Bombay, India. Devasia has participated in many group shows and has received the BRONZE AWARD of the 22.Tokio-Videofestival,Japan.He participated in 15.Dokumentarfimfestival Munich; 18.Festival Video Estavar-Llivia,France; Shortfilmfestival Cochin, India; Rights for 2000 at Planete Chanel, Paris, France; 2000: SANTHI BHAVAN - House of Peace (with Sylvie Bantle); 2001: CHAKARA (with Sylvie Bantle;) and 17.Dokumentarfimfestival Munich, Germany. Alexander Devasia lives and works as a free artist in Munich, Germany since 1998.
