A talented Vadodara based ceramist and potter, Jyotsna Bhatt moved there from Mumbai in 1958 to learn sculpture under renowned sculptor Sankho Chaudhuri. She discovered here her interest in creating three dimensional figures and Jyotsna joined the Faculty of Fine Arts, MS University, Vadodara , for a formal degree. Her ceramic works include figures of cats and dogs, and the dome of the wheel is one of her favourite forms. She has been a reader at the Faculty of Fine Arts, MS University, Vadodara, where she met and married fellow printmaker and photographer, Jyoti Bhatt. She accompanied him on a trip to New York, where she learnt copper enamelling, which she also uses in her works. Jyotsna Bhatt lives and works in Vadodara, India.
